This page is intended for individuals who have applied to our services previously. It summarizes the most important changes these existing applicants will encounter when using MyIntealth. This information for each service may include revised deadlines, dates for completing in-progress applications/requests, how to access services, process changes, and ID numbers.

Please check back frequently since updates will be provided as they become available.

General Applicant Information

Delayed Processing Times

Applicants should expect delays in processing for all services during the transition to MyIntealth, both before and after launch. We appreciate the patience and cooperation of all users during the transition.

Process Changes

There will be changes to the processes for requesting our services in MyIntealth. Some of these changes are highlighted below by service.

Due to these changes, some in-progress applications/requests cannot be transferred to MyIntealth. Applicants who wish to complete in-progress items before the transition should refer to Dates for Completing Certain In-Progress Applications/Requests. If an application/request cannot be completed before the transition to MyIntealth, the in-progress item will be rejected, and the applicant can submit a new request in MyIntealth.

Additionally, as a result of these process changes, some applicants will be required to repeat certain parts of an application/request process, such as resubmitting medical education credentials or completing an identity verification process. When you log into MyIntealth, you will have the opportunity to complete any steps required to access our services.

Dates for Completing Certain In-Progress Applications/Requests

Due to changes in our processes, some in-progress applications/requests cannot be transferred to MyIntealth. For certain in-progress applications/requests that cannot be transferred, we have established dates to assist applicants who want to complete these items before MyIntealth launches.

Please refer to the specific information for each service below and take any required actions to complete in-progress items as soon as possible. All dates/times are calculated using Eastern Time in the United States. Please monitor this page and our social media channels found at the bottom of this page for updates and additions.

IMPORTANT

The dates below are provided as general guidance for applicants. For applications/requests received by the dates indicated, we will process as many as possible before MyIntealth launches. Receipt by the date(s) indicated does not guarantee that an application/request will be processed before MyIntealth launches. If an application/request cannot be processed in time and cannot be transferred, it will be rejected and the applicant can submit a new request in MyIntealth.

Identity Verification

Identity verification is part of many of our services, protecting the privacy of applicants and the integrity of our processes. The identity verification requirements in MyIntealth will be the same as our current requirements, i.e., notarization of an Intealth identification form with a valid passport presented to the notary as the identification document. Online notarization by NotaryCam will continue to be required, and Intealth will continue to collect the NotaryCam fee.

Changes to the process in MyIntealth include:

  • Identity verification will take place at the time of MyIntealth Account Establishment.
  • A new Intealth Identification Form (IIF), common to all services, will replace our current identification forms (e.g., the Certification of Identification Form, or CIF (Form 186), and the EPIC Identification Form, or EIF).
  • Once notarized, the IIF will be returned to Intealth automatically by NotaryCam.

If an applicant has used one of our services and has a valid, notarized identification form that was supported by a valid passport as identification, the applicant will meet the requirements for accessing services in MyIntealth and the applicant’s MyIntealth account will be established as part of the transition. Otherwise, the applicant will be required to complete the MyIntealth Account Establishment process, which includes identity verification, to access certain services in MyIntealth. Please refer to the specific information for each service below.

MyIntealth Account

If an applicant already has used any of our services, we will transfer the applicant’s existing account information to MyIntealth prior to launch, including merging multiple accounts into a single new account. Once MyIntealth launches, we will send an e-mail invitation with instructions for logging into the MyIntealth account. Applicants who do not meet our current identity verification requirements will be required to complete the MyIntealth Account Establishment process, which includes identity verification, to access certain services.

MyIntealth ID

All applicants will be assigned a MyIntealth ID, a unique 9-digit number that will be used to identify them across our services. Applicants will be issued a MyIntealth ID once they establish their MyIntealth account and should use the MyIntealth ID consistently when contacting us for assistance.

In addition to the MyIntealth ID, MyIntealth will continue to support applicant ID numbers used by certain other organizations. This means that the other ID number(s) will be associated with the applicant’s MyIntealth account. Please refer to the specific information for each service below.

Using MyIntealth

Applicants:

  • Will use MyIntealth to access all services. MyIntealth will replace most of our web-based applications and many of our paper-based forms for applicants.
  • Will use their e-mail address as their user ID. Applicants cannot share an e-mail address with another MyIntealth user. They also will be required to create a password. Applicants will use their user ID and password to access all services in the MyIntealth environment.
  • Must upload all required documents, such as medical education credentials, in MyIntealth. Paper copies and e-mail submissions will no longer be accepted.
  • Should use the Google Chrome browser to access MyIntealth for the best experience.

Fees & Payment

In determining our fees, we prioritize affordability and strive to keep costs for applicants as low as possible. In recent years, we have made deliberate decisions to absorb increased costs rather than raise our fees. For 2024, we have once again decided not to increase the Intealth fees that applicants pay for our services. Please note that some of our fees include costs that we collect on behalf of and pay to third parties. Increases in third-party fees may be reflected in the fees we charge.

We have changed the structure of some fees for enhanced clarity and to align fees with specific parts of application processes in MyIntealth. Please refer to the specific information for each service below.

There will be changes to Intealth’s payment methods and policy when MyIntealth launches:

  • Applicants will use MyIntealth to pay for all services and to track all financial transactions.
  • Available payment methods are debit from a U.S. bank account and credit card. Paper checks, bank drafts, and money orders will no longer be accepted.
  • The maximum amount that applicants can have in their financial account in MyIntealth at any time is $5,000.00.
  • Certain refunds will be processed automatically.

Revised Deadline

  • Applications for Pathways for 2024 Match. The deadline for submitting applications to the Pathways for ECFMG Certification for the 2024 Match has changed to December 31, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. The previous deadline had been January 31, 2024. If applicants need to meet the clinical and communication skills requirements for ECFMG Certification and do not submit a 2024 Pathways application by 6:00 p.m. on December 31, 2023, they will not be eligible to participate in the 2024 Match.
  • Deadlines for submitting documentation in support of a 2024 Pathways application, including Occupational English Test (OET) Medicine scores, registration/licensure documentation for Pathway 1, attestations for Pathways 2-5, and Mini-Clinical Evaluation Exercise (Mini-CEX) evaluations for Pathway 6, have not changed. For complete information, please refer to our announcement and the Pathways section of this website.

Dates for Completing Certain In-Progress Applications/Requests

Due to changes in processes described above and below, some in-progress applications/requests cannot be transferred to MyIntealth. The following dates are provided to assist applicants who wish to complete these items before the transition to MyIntealth.

  • ECFMG/USMLE ID Request. We are no longer processing requests for ECFMG/USMLE IDs. Once MyIntealth launches, applicants will be able to establish a MyIntealth account and then begin the ECFMG Certification process, including submitting an Application for ECFMG Certification, obtaining a USMLE ID, and applying for USMLE exams.
  • Application for ECFMG Certification (which currently includes identity verification). Applicants who have submitted the Application for ECFMG Certification but have not yet completed notarization of the CIF should have their CIF notarized no later than January 7, 2024. Otherwise, the applicant will be required to complete the MyIntealth Account Establishment process, which includes identity verification, before requesting future services in MyIntealth. See Identity Verification below.
  • In-Progress Applications for USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 Clinical Knowledge (CK) from Graduates. Graduates who plan to apply for examination before MyIntealth launches and whose medical education credentials are not yet verified and accepted must submit the exam application and all supporting documentation, including medical education credentials, no later than 6:00 p.m. on December 15, 2023. Additionally, these applicants must ensure that their medical school verifies their graduate status as follows:
    • Medical schools that verify student/graduate status electronically must complete the verification request via EMSWP Status Verification. Medical schools are strongly encouraged to complete any pending Status Verification requests as soon as possible. Status Verification for graduates must be received by ECFMG prior to the Pause in Services.
    • Medical schools that verify student/graduate status via a paper-based method must ensure that we receive Form 183 by December 31, 2023.
  • If we are unable to complete the application before the transition to MyIntealth, the application will be rejected, and these graduates will be required to have their medical education credentials verified and accepted before they can submit a new exam application in MyInteath. This may require resubmission of medical education credentials. See “Process Changes: Applying for ECFMG Certification and for Examination” below.
  • Request Forms. Applicants who plan to request the following services prior to the transition to MyIntealth must ensure that we receive the request no later than 6:00 p.m. on December 31, 2023.
    • Form 172 – Request for an Official USMLE Transcript
    • Form 182 – Request to Change Applicant Biographic Information
    • Form 184 – Request for an Official ECFMG Examination History Chart
    • Form 297 – Request for an Official ECFMG CSA History Chart
    • Form 265 – Request for Recheck of USMLE Step 1/Step 2 CK Score
    • Form 312 – Request to Change USMLE Step 1/Step 2 CK Testing Region

  • If the request is received after this date or if there is not enough time to process the request, it will be rejected and the applicant can submit a new online request in MyIntealth.

IMPORTANT

The dates above are provided as general guidance for applicants.

Process Changes: Applying for ECFMG Certification and for Examination

Currently, applicants provide their medical education credentials at the time of exam application and can apply and be registered for examination while their credentials are being verified, provided that their medical school verifies their student or graduate status. These processes will change in MyIntealth, as described below.

  • Application for ECFMG Certification. When completing the Application for ECFMG Certification in MyIntealth, applicants will provide detailed information about their medical education and upload medical education credentials, such as the final medical diploma and, if applicable, transcript(s) to document transfer credits.
    • Students must provide transcript(s) to document transfer credits, if applicable, and these transcript(s) must be verified and accepted by ECFMG before the Application for ECFMG Certification is accepted. Once the Application for ECFMG Certification is accepted, students can apply for examination. If there are changes to their medical education information, including graduation from medical school, they must update their Application for ECFMG Certification. When an applicant graduates, the applicant must provide their final medical diploma and cannot apply for examination until all medical education credentials, including the diploma and transcript(s), are verified and accepted.
    • Graduates must provide the final medical diploma and, if applicable, transcript(s) to document transfer credits, and the graduate’s medical education credentials must be verified and accepted by ECFMG before the Application for ECFMG Certification is accepted. Once the Application for ECFMG Certification is accepted, graduates can apply for examination. If a graduate receives the final medical diploma after acceptance of their Application for ECFMG Certification, the graduate must update their Application for ECFMG Certification and provide their final medical diploma. In this case, the graduate can apply for examination only after all medical education credentials, including diploma and transcript(s), are verified and accepted.
  • Verification of Student/Graduate Status. When MyIntealth launches, there will be changes to our processes for verifying the student or graduate status of applicants for the purpose of determining eligibility for examination.
    • If a student’s medical school currently verifies student status electronically through the ECFMG Medical School Web Portal (EMSWP), the medical school will verify student status electronically through MyIntealth. If the student’s medical school currently verifies student status via a paper-based method, MyIntealth will generate an enrollment verification form after the student submits the exam application. The student must download the form from MyIntealth, complete the student portion, and then provide it to the medical school for completion.
    • Verification of graduate status will no longer be required at the time of exam application, expediting the exam application process for these applicants. Because a graduate’s medical education credentials will be verified and accepted by ECFMG before the graduate can apply for examination, there will be no need for subsequent verification.

Identity Verification

  • Applicants who have a valid Certification of Identification Form, or CIF (Form 186), without a “valid to” date will have a MyIntealth account created as part of the transition and will be able to request services, such as applying for USMLE exams.
  • Applicants who do not have a valid CIF as described above must complete the MyIntealth Account Establishment process, which includes identity verification, before requesting certain services.
    • Applicants who submitted their Application for ECFMG Certification on or after September 13, 2018 but did not complete the CIF will be able to complete MyIntealth Account Establishment, including identity verification, at no cost. Otherwise, the applicant must pay the MyIntealth Account Establishment fee.
